Supporting Parents of Children with SEND

One Education have created a helpline for parents/carers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and for Early Help professionals within the Manchester local authority.

This service offers a problem-solving phone conversation relating to educating your child/young person at home and responding to issues relating to learning, behaviour, anxiety and mental health needs. For example:

  • Are you feeling unsure of how to teach your child at home?
  • Are you finding it difficult to teach what is expected?
  • Is it difficult to help your child stay calm or get them to co-operate?
  • Are you concerned that you don’t have the right equipment or resources?

These are particularly difficult times for parents/carers of children and young people with special needs and disabilities. This helpline is available to talk through difficulties you may be facing.
