As part of the school’s commitment to raise aspirations and promote a wide range of career pathways, Year 9 and 10 students were given the opportunity to hear from a practising corporate solicitor.

The talk took place on Friday 3rd May 2019 in school and it provided students with an opportunity to learn about the wide range of careers in the legal sector.

The talk was from Christina Millan from O’Connors Legal firm and she told the students about her own career path. The students also completed activities to test their knowledge of different types of roles in this sector. They also learnt about the challenges they may face and how to overcome these.

Ms O’Donnell, Head of Careers, said:

The talk by Christina was informative and inspirational and allowed the students to find out more about studying Law at University and the wide range of careers in this sector. Knowing the grades they need to work towards will support the students to work hard and aspire to the wide range of exciting careers in Law.

It was inspirational and opened my eyes to all the different areas of law you can work in. It helped me see that I could take a different path.
Anu (Year 10 student)

It was good to learn about something you don’t learn about in school subjects. I also found out that there are lots of other brilliant careers you can do with a Law degree, not just in Law.
Daniella (Year 9 student)
