Students visit Cambridge for a taste of University Life

Published: 24/02/2020

Year 10 students were given a fantastic opportunity to visit the University of Cambridge, as part of a careers trip to help raise aspirations and give students a taste of Higher Education.

The visit took place on Thursday 6th February 2020 and it provided students with an opportunity to learn more about higher education, the wide range of courses available, student life and finance. We also had the chance to meet with current students and discover a new city. We aim to raise students’ aspirations and encourage them to consider University as a future option.

This visit was a fantastic opportunity for our students to visit a University and have a taste of what University life could be like for them. The students represented TEMA brilliantly!
Ms O’Donnell, Head of Careers

From today’s visit, I have learnt that going to University takes a lot of hard work. If you do get in, you have to be ready to be independent, hardworking and to have a specific goal to reach.

I learned that there are a lot of opportunities that are on offer and something for everyone.
