National Careers Week 2019
TEMA’s student Careers Ambassadors are leading assemblies all week, focusing on Women in STEM and encouraging all students to think about their careers ideas. Our staff faculty Careers Champions have planned a range of exciting lessons linking their subjects to careers.
History are looking at jobs in Tudor times compared to now and the worst jobs in the industrial revolution! We have the IGD employability skills workshops running for Year 9 students and we have a guest speaker from the construction industry speaking with students about her role as a Managing Director of a Civil Engineering team.
To round the week off, we have an event in school celebrating NCW and International Womens’ Day hosted by Network Rail and WISE, celebrating females working in the rail industry!
Ms O’Donnell, Head of Careers, said:
Celebrating National Careers Week is an important part of our calendar at TEMA and a real opportunity to focus our students on careers and their future plans.
Michelle, Year 10 Careers Ambassador, said:
It is important to think about your future career ideas and National Careers Week helps us with the events and assemblies we have in school.
