Digital Her Event

As part of the school’s commitment to showcase careers in the creative and digital industries and encourage girls to consider these careers, Year 8 female students were given the opportunity to take part in the Digital Her event run by Manchester Digital and hosted by Manchester City at the Etihad stadium.

Careers Business Lunch Part 2

TEMA Careers hosted their second careers business lunch in school, hosted by Savills, with fifteen Year 9 and 10 students specially selected to take part.

PSHRE Curriculum

We pride ourselves on the provision of a broad and balanced curriculum offer. We are in the fortunate position of already providing a comprehensive Personal, Social, Health and Relationships Education (PSHRE) to all of our young people.

Year 10 College Taster Days

Year 10 students were given the opportunity to take part in college taster days at Connell Coop College, The Manchester College, Clarendon Sixth Form College and Tameside College.

Careers Advice

At our Academy students are offered comprehensive advice and a wide range of opportunities to develop their awareness about future careers. We want all of our pupils to aim high and reach their full potential.

Beauty and the Business Event

Year 9 students were given a fantastic opportunity to take part in a ‘Beauty and the Business’ careers event, which focused on the running of your own business in the beauty industry.

Year 7 ‘Gateways’ at the University of Manchester

As part of the school’s commitment to raise aspirations and promote higher education as an option, Year 7 students were given the opportunity to take part in their first ‘Gateways’ day at the University of Manchester.

Teens and Screens

Teenagers love using their mobile phones. Whether it is watching videos on YouTube, scrolling through Instagram or gaming, children seem to be constantly glued to their phones.

Design and Create

Our Design and Technology curriculum allows pupils to build a substantive and essential body of knowledge across all Design and Technology specialisms to allow them to have a broad understanding of the subject.

Mathematics

No one is born knowing maths but no one is born lacking the ability to learn maths.

Modern Foreign Languages

Our aim in MFL is to develop a passion for language, travel and culture; opening up our students’ worlds to new and exciting opportunities.

Physical Education

We aim to give all students the desire and ability to be lifelong participants in physical activity.

Homework

Homework is an important part of a young person’s development and will be set regularly. Sometimes homework will be the completion of work set online.

Humanities

To enable our pupils to appreciate the world around them: its diversity; culture; geography and history. To provide them with the skills required to question and critically evaluate their place in the world.

Digital Communications

We aim to give pupils a clear focus on the understanding of how a computer works. This knowledge allows them to gain a deeper understanding of how systems work.

Science

Our science curriculum is designed to provide a high-quality science education, setting the foundations for understanding the world through the specific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics.

English

Our curriculum offer seeks to promote a passion for English within all students at TEMA. The love of the subject is nurtured and will build on the vital foundations of reading, writing and speaking and listening that students have already laid at Key Stages 1 and 2.

Performing Arts

Our performing arts curriculum strives to make every child have an appreciation for the performing arts by inclusion, passion and opportunity. Our curriculum is dedicated to ensuring pupils’ develop socially, emotionally and skillfully in drama through both independent work and ensemble skills.
