Parents and Carers

Welcome to our Parents and Carers section, which aims to provide you with everything you need all in one central place.

Attendance

We are committed to the continuous raising of progress for all students. Regular and punctual attendance is critical if students are to benefit from the opportunities available to them and enjoy a successful and fulfilling school experience.

ParentPay

As of September 2017 we changed the way we accept payments for School Meals, Trips and Events. Payments are only accepted online via the ParentPay website or by cash at a PayPoint at local retailers*. Cash is no longer accepted in school for these items.

Academy Day

A complete timetable of the school day, updated for September 2020.

Academy Uniform

The East Manchester Academy is a place of learning, and we are proud of our distinctive uniform that has been developed in consultation with students and families. We expect our students to wear it smartly at all times in preparation for the professional expectations of the workplace.

Careers Advice

At our Academy students are offered comprehensive advice and a wide range of opportunities to develop their awareness about future careers. We want all of our pupils to aim high and reach their full potential.

eSafety at TEMA

Working together between the Academy and parents/carers is essential if we are to raise awareness of eSafety. We encourage parents/carers to get involved with their child’s online world and discuss any issues they are having.

Extra Curricular Activities

We place great value on extra-curricular activities and encourage all pupils to participate on a regular basis. There will be a wide range of activities and plenty of opportunities to participate in clubs, societies and sport.

Pupil Premium and Other Grants

Pupil Premium funding is given to public schools in England to spend on raising the attainment of disadvantaged students.

Reading

We often hear about how important reading is for us – it is so important for our young people to focus on reading for pleasure just as much as they read for their studies.

Teens and Screens

Teenagers love using their mobile phones. Whether it is watching videos on YouTube, scrolling through Instagram or gaming, children seem to be constantly glued to their phones.
