Students Shine on NHS Values and Social Action Day ( Published: 07/09/2026)

Students across Years 7 to 10 took part in an inspiring, action-packed off-timetable day dedicated to community care, wellbeing, and civic responsibility.

Earning the Awards: What Students Did

Throughout the day, cohorts rotated through engaging, hands-on workshops designed to earn their NHS-recognized badges and certificates, culminating in a school-wide celebration in the MUS.

First Aid

Students stepped up to develop vital life-saving skills and empathy. They shared personal stories about caring for others, learned practical emergency response techniques, and explored how everyday actions can save lives.

NHS Values (Red and Blue Tasks)

Focus turned to future aspirations and the core principles of public service. Students reflected on career paths, discussed the values that underpin healthcare, and explored the essential roles that keep communities healthy and supported.

Nature Craft (Rock Painting Craftivism)

Combining creativity with positive mental health messaging, students decorated stones with uplifting wellbeing slogans such as ‘Be Kind,’ ‘Save 999 for Real Emergencies’, and calming nature symbols to spread awareness and positivity across the community.

Civic Mural (The Yellow Award – Local Social Action)

Tackling the question, “what does my community mean to me?”, each student designed an individual square of artwork. These individual contributions were brought together into a permanent school mural, ensuring every student left a lasting mark representing their cohort’s diverse voices.

Fitness & Team Circuits

Students rounded off their practical achievements with an energetic PE circuits session, emphasizing physical wellbeing, collaboration, and stamina.

Achieving the NHS Award

By successfully completing every stage – from emergency care awareness and value reflection to community craftivism and the shared civic mural – students met all requirements to receive their official NHS certificates during the end-of-day celebration. It was a fantastic day of teamwork, pride, and purposeful learning that celebrated the best of our school community.
