Attendance

We are committed to the continuous raising of progress for all students. Regular and punctual attendance is critical if students are to benefit from the opportunities available to them and enjoy a successful and fulfilling school experience.

Academy Day

We believe that learning can only be at its most effective and enjoyable where pupils behave responsibly and considerately. Our orderly, calm and purposeful learning environment underpins the education that we provide.

Academy Uniform

The East Manchester Academy is a place of learning, and we are proud of our distinctive uniform that has been developed in consultation with students and families. We expect our students to wear it smartly at all times in preparation for the professional expectations of the workplace.

Calendar and Term Dates

While we do try to plan our events in advance they are subject to changes, so please check back regularly, especially when close to an event date.

Careers Advice

At our Academy students are offered comprehensive advice and a wide range of opportunities to develop their awareness about future careers. We want all of our pupils to aim high and reach their full potential.

At The East Manchester Academy we are extremely proud of the ambitious, broad and balanced curriculum we offer to all of our students.

Extra Curricular Activities

We place great value on extra-curricular activities and encourage all pupils to participate on a regular basis. There will be a wide range of activities and plenty of opportunities to participate in clubs, societies and sport.

Getting to School

Hollie Guard – A FREE Personal Safety App

As the new school year starts and students are making their way to and from school (or if they are generally ‘out and about’ with friends) we would like to tell you about this great safety app called 'Hollie Guard'.

Money Advice Referral Tool

The MART is a financial support finder available for people living in Greater Manchester. If you or someone you regularly work with or support is struggling financially, you can use this website to find appropriate advice and services.

Online Safety at TEMA

Working together between the Academy and parents/carers is essential if we are to raise awareness of Online Safety. We encourage parents/carers to get involved with their child’s online world and discuss any issues they are having.

Policies

Pupil Premium and Other Grants

Pupil Premium funding is given to public schools in England to spend on raising the attainment of disadvantaged students.

Reading

At TEMA, we really value reading. We see reading as fundamental to student success now and in the future.

Safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding children and promoting children’s welfare and expect all staff, LAC members, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment and maintain a constant vigilant and safe environment.

Supporting Students with SEND

Our SEND Report provides information for parents/carers of children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, and all those who support children with additional needs.

Teens and Screens

Teenagers love using their mobile phones. Whether it is watching videos on YouTube, scrolling through Instagram or gaming, children seem to be constantly glued to their phones.
