Students demonstrating resilience during a range of outward-bound activities, at Ghyll Head in April 2026

Year 11 Residential Trip to Ghyll Head in the Lake District ( Published: 28/04/2026)

Our Year 11 students recently returned from a memorable residential trip to Ghyll Head in the heart of the Lake District, where they challenged themselves, supported one another and truly lived out our REACH values.

Throughout the visit, students demonstrated excellent teamwork while taking part in a range of outward-bound activities. They approached each challenge with enthusiasm and impressive resilience, encouraging one another to step outside their comfort zones and celebrating shared successes along the way. Their cooperation and determination were a pleasure to see.

The sense of responsibility extended beyond the activities themselves. Students fully supported meal times and clean-up, working together efficiently and cheerfully to look after their shared living space. This positive attitude reflected their respect for the environment and for each other. The Ghyll Head Centre staff commended their positive attitudes and conduct throughout.

Alongside the practical experiences, students remained focused and committed during structured maths, science and English revision sessions. With GCSE examinations fast approaching, their maturity, effort and determination stood out. We are extremely proud of the focus and progress they continue to show.
