Students at 'El Rincón de Rafa' in Manchester, in February 2026

Year 8 Trip to a Spanish Restaurant ( Published: 26/02/2026)

In February 2026, our Spanish students enjoyed a fantastic cultural experience with a visit to El Rincón de Rafa – and what a memorable trip it was!

From the moment we arrived at the Spanish restaurant (El Rincón de Rafa), we were warmly welcomed and immersed in an authentic Spanish atmosphere. The vibrant décor, traditional music, and friendly staff made everyone feel as though they had stepped straight into Spain.

Students had the opportunity to practise their Spanish in real-life situations – ordering their food, asking questions, and thanking the staff in Spanish. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they used the language beyond the classroom.

Of course, the highlight for many was the delicious food! Students sampled a variety of traditional Spanish tapas, experiencing new flavours and learning about the cultural importance of different meals and ingredients. The trip was not only a treat for the taste buds but also an important part of understanding Spanish traditions and hospitality.

It was a pleasure serving your Year 8 students. They were polite, friendly, and very enthusiastic. We especially loved their effort to order in Spanish – ¡muy bien! We’d be happy to welcome them back anytime.
