Beauty and the Business Event

Year 9 students were given a fantastic opportunity to take part in a ‘Beauty and the Business’ careers event, which focused on the running of your own business in the beauty industry.

The event took place on Friday 17th May 2019 and it provided students with an opportunity to learn about higher education opportunities and the skills needed to run a successful business. They then heard from a make-up artist who runs her own business and had the chance to watch demonstrations then practise these themselves! The students also created their own designs and learnt about the transferable skills you can relate to other industries.

Ms O’Donnell, Head of Careers, said:

The event was informative and inspirational and allowed the students to find out more about what it takes to make a success of running their own business.

It was amazing and inspirational! I am very interested in business in the future and it gave me some good ideas about how I can do this.
