Students during a fieldtrip to the Peak District in September 2022

Geographers Visit the Peak District ( Published: 04/10/2022)

Year 11 geographers visited Crowden Brook in the Peak District to investigate river changes, which should help them to answer questions in their GCSE exams next summer.

On 20th September 2022, forty-four Year 11 geographers went to Crowden Brook to complete physical fieldwork. They investigated the validity of the Bradshaw model by measuring the width, depth, gradient and velocity at different points along the course of the river.

Despite the overcast conditions, pupils and staff had a excellent day and collected useful data that they will write about in paper 3 of their GCSEs next summer. We look forward to taking the remainder of our Year 11 cohort on the same trip on in October.
