Medical Mavericks Event – July 2021

Published: 13/07/2021

As part of the school’s commitment to promote the wide range of careers in healthcare, Year 9 students were given the opportunity to take part in a Medical Mavericks event at TEMA.

Medical Mavericks Event (July 2021)

The event took place on Monday 12th July 2021 and it provided students with the chance to take part in lots of interactive activities related to different healthcare careers.

They used some high-tech medical equipment, including ultrasound and ECG machines and were also able to practice performing keyhole surgery, measure blood pressure and test their reflexes. There were also some excellent brainteasers to test themselves with.

The interactive activities allowed the students to find out about careers and job roles they may not have previously thought about and to develop new skills related to those jobs. The students really made the most of the opportunity and enthusiastically took part in every activity! We run Medical Mavericks sessions every year and it’s always one we look forward to!
