Oxford University Residential

Published: 21/11/2018

As part of the school’s commitment to showcase Higher education and raise aspirations, Year 10 and 11 students were given the opportunity to visit Oxford University, taking part in workshops about the range of courses available and subject taster sessions. They also learned about University life in general.

The residential trip took place on Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th October 2018 at the University of Oxford. It provided students with an opportunity to discover a new city and learn more about becoming a student at the University.

We aimed to raise the students’ aspirations and to encourage them to consider University in general and Oxford University in particular as an option in their future.

Kai, Year 10, said:

I really enjoyed the Oxford trip. The best thing was the taster sessions as it taught me about subjects at University.

Ashley, Year 10, added:

I found the Q&A session especially interesting and useful and I now feel more confident about going to University. It has given me something to aspire to.
