MFL Cinema Trip to See Zipi Zape y el Club de la Canica ( Published: 13/03/2023)

As part of the school’s vision to equip students with the skills, abilities, attributes and qualifications to be active, global citizens, we took 55 Year 10 Spanish students to see the acclaimed Spanish film ‘Zipi Zape y el Club de la Canica’.

On Thursday 9th March 2023, Ms Capuano, Mr Eyres, Ms García Morado and Mr Ross took 55 Year 7 students through the snow and on the Metrolink, to the prestigious cultural institution of ‘Instituto Cervantes’, for a showing of an acclaimed Spanish film.

The showing was funded by ‘Into Film’ and presented a fantastic opportunity for students to engage in Spanish cultural experiences. The film was screened in its original Spanish audio, with English subtitles. Not only did this help students with listening and comprehension skills in Spanish, but also helped ignite a passion for diverse cultural experiences and nurture curiosity and intrigue in the opportunities of language learning.

The students had an amazing time and weren’t phased in the slightest by the arctic conditions of the tram journey through town.
