Collaborative learning during the Year 8 Misconception Workshop in February 2023

Year 8 Students Run Misconception Workshop ( Published: 15/02/2023)

As part of the Comino Foundation Power of 6 Project, six of our Year 8 students have designed, planned and run a workshop for their peers on the topic of ‘adding with negatives’.

The Power of 6 Project aims to develop students’ leadership skills within maths. The students have been working hard researching the teaching of adding with negatives, common misconceptions and manipulatives. They ran a workshop with 20 other Year 8 students and will present their project to other schools at The Met Theatre in Bury at the beginning of March.

The students did a great job and ran a successful workshop for their peers. I can’t wait to watch them show off all of their hard work when they present their project in a few weeks time.
