TV and Film Careers Workshop ( Published: 06/03/2023)

Key Stage 4 Performing Arts and Film students took part in a ScreenSkills workshop lead by industry professionals, to deepen their knowledge of the opportunities available in the sector.

ScreenSkills led an interactive workshop with students, which explored the various different job roles in TV drama and how you can take your first steps into the industry. Students learnt all about the skills and hobbies that can help you get a job working in TV, discovering jobs in Make-Up, Costume, Art, Camera, Editing, Accounts and many more.

ScreenSkills is the industry-led skills body for the screen industries – film, television (including children’s, unscripted and high-end), VFX (visual effects), animation and games. They train the people who make the shows the whole world loves, and are supporting continued growth and future innovation across the country by investing in the skilled and inclusive workforce who are critical to the UK screen industries’ global success.

The session was fantastic, it started with children choosing either arts and crafts (making a house) or illustration (drawing). It was great for them to choose what they could make.
