Year 11 Transition at TEMA

Published: 30/06/2021

Our Year 11s have been taking part in two weeks of bespoke activities to support them in their transition to post 16.

A Year 11 transition masterclass in History in 2021

Taking part in the History masterclass gave me an insight into what would be involved in the A level, and has helped me decide that I definitely want to study it at college. The post 16 workshop also helped prepare me for the next steps, now I have left school.
Megan, Year 11

Students took part in both A level and BTEC masterclasses in various subjects, to help them prepare for studying at college. These included English, Maths, Science, Sociology, Business, Spanish and History.

The students were also invited in for Post 16 planning sessions, including information on route planning, applying for free travel, GCSE results day and enrolment. Finally, they were all invited to take part in CV writing sessions.

We wanted to make sure that our students have had the opportunity to prepare as well as they can for the next stage in their education and training. It has been a year like no other, so it was important to us that we supported the students as best as we could. We wish them all good luck and our best wishes.
