City Inspires Mental Health Workshop

Published: 05/02/2021

Our City Inspires cohort took part in the very first mental health workshop provided by City in the Community as part of its new ‘Cityzens Giving for Recovery’ project.

Students taking part in a mental health workshop run by City in the Community in 2021

The sessions aim to raise awareness of mental health subjects including stigma and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Alongside this, the sessions also aim to normalise mental health conversations, encouraging students to talk about their stressors and the strategies they use to cope. Throughout the day, TEMA students took part in workshops and activities which covered a wide-range of subjects including, a definition of mental health and the real-world application, signs and symptoms of struggling, and how we can use our coping strategies when we aren’t feeling 100%.

You can read more about this event on the Manchester City website.

The City in the Community team were very understanding of mental health and the effects it can have on young people.
