Maths Surgery in full swing, October 2022

Maths Surgery Returns for a Second Year ( Published: 14/10/2022)

The very popular ‘Maths Surgery’ club has been expanded to cater for a greater number of interested students, who have been demonstrating much ambition during this extra-curricular enrichment time.

Over sixty students across all year groups applied and interviewed to be Consultants or Registrars for Maths Surgery for the 2022/23 academic year, with forty-five of those appointed. Consultants help students with a specific maths skill that links to a checkpoint completed in lesson. Registrars organise resources, notes and manage the weekly running of Maths Surgery. Year 11 students also have the opportunity to complete GCSE practice papers.

Every Thursday, students attending Maths Surgery consistently show our school value of ‘ambition’, as they seek to improve their maths.

It’s great to see so many students enthusiastic about maths and helping each other.
Mrs Peynado, Teacher of Maths

Maths Surgery runs on Thursdays from 2.30pm – 3.30pm, and can be found on the Year 8 corridor.
