Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) Focus for This Half-Term ( Published: 26/09/2025)

This coming half-term, all students at The East Manchester Academy, from Year 7 to Year 11, will be taking part in lessons focusing on Relationships and Sex Education (RSE).

The delivery of a comprehensive RSE curriculum is a statutory requirement for all schools in England. Our programme is carefully designed to be age-appropriate for each year group. The core purpose of these lessons is to equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and attributes they need to navigate the modern world safely. We aim to help them build healthy, respectful relationships, both online and offline, and understand how to look after their own wellbeing.

We believe that a strong partnership between school and home is essential for this subject to be taught effectively. We encourage all parents and carers to familiarise themselves with the curriculum your child will be studying.

To support this, we have created comprehensive parent guides and provided an overview of the content being covered. These resources are available for you to view here on our website.

Thank you for your support in this vital area of your child’s education.
